Thermal Properties of Alkaline Earth Oxides
The heat capacities of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO, reported in part I have been analysed in terms of the frequency spectrum of the lattice with the assumption that the effect of anharmonicity of the lattice may be neglected for T (@D / 3 ) . Following the usual procedure the n-th moments of the frequency spectrum with n = — 3, —2, — 1, 0, 1 to 6 were calculated from the experimental data. From the l...
متن کاملAlkaline-Earth-Catalyzed Dehydrocoupling of Amines and Boranes
Dehydrocoupling reactions between the boranes HBpin and 9-borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane and a range of amines and anilines ensue under very mild reaction conditions in the presence of a simple β-diketiminato magnesium n-butyl precatalyst. The facility of the reactions is suggested to be a function of the Lewis acidity of the borane substrate, and is dictated by resultant pre-equilibria between, and ...
متن کاملCholesterol oxides inhibit cholesterol esterification by lecithin:cholesterol acyl transferase
Cholesterol oxides are atherogenic and can affect the activity of diverse important enzymes for the lipidic metabolism. The effect of 7b-hydroxycholesterol, 7-ketocholesterol, 25-hydroxycholesterol, cholestan-3b,5a,6b-triol,5,6b-epoxycholesterol, 5,6a-epoxycholesterol and 7a-hydroxycholesterol on esterification of cholesterol by lecithin:cholesterol acyl transferase (LCAT, EC 2.3.1.43) and the ...
متن کاملDensity Functional Theory Study of Surface and Bulk Nitrates of .-Al2O3 Supported Alkaline Earth Oxides
Introduction Alkaline earth oxides (AEOs) such as BaO have received considerable attention for their application in the lean-burn engine NOx storage/reduction (NSR) technology [1]. Previous experimental investigations have indicated that barium nitrate is the most stable form of the stored NOx in Ba-containing NSR catalysts. Two distinctive types of barium nitrates, Ba(NO3)2, i.e. “surface” and...
متن کاملAsymmetric esterification of ketenes catalyzed by an N-heterocyclic carbene.
The chiral N-heterocyclic carbene precursor, derived from L-pyroglutamic acid, was found to be an efficient precatalyst for the enantioselective esterification of alkylarylketenes with benzhydrol to give the corresponding esters in good yields with good to high enantioselectivities (up to 95% ee).
